Mind Waiting?

As I read this verse, I am reminded of the song “I don’t mind waiting, I don’t mind waiting. I don’t mind waiting on the Lord”.

But in reality, a lot of us really despise waiting.

Chief of sinners here.

Because waiting means

-I am not in control
-I can’t skip the lesson He has for me to learn or the assignment He has for me to complete
-I can’t move at breakneck speed from one thing to another
-I have to be child-like, dependent.

None of the things my carnal self enjoys.

But then I’m supposed to be starving that carnal side of me, right? Because….

“To be controlled by human nature results in death; to be controlled by the Spirit results in life and peace.”
Romans 8:6 GNT

Father, I can’t do this on my own.

Help me to be open to the influence of your Holy Spirit so I that can experience your peace in this season of waiting.

Create in me a child-like faith. Hold firmly to my hand less I try to run ahead of You.

You can see the end from the beginning, so I submit to Your timing.

Help me to trust in You always.

In Jesus’s name, Amen.
