Be on Guard

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12: 2‬ ‭NIV‬‬
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

3 Things We Can Take Away:

1. The world can change us.

We may have good intentions to walk with God, but the enemy will do all he can to distract us; these distractions can be bold but are often subtle, and before we realize it, the things of God no longer hold out interests.

2. The bulk of Christian warfare happens in the mind.

Whichever side has our minds, has us.

Whatever we feed our minds influences us.

A preacher once said that we often wonder why our spiritual lives are like see-saws – up one day and down the next.

He asked the question, after we attend church on the weekend, what do we feed our minds for the remainder of the week?

How can we expect to grow SPIRITUALLY if we feed our minds secular material ALL the time?

The more time spent in God’s Word, the more we will reflect His character. Once our minds have been transformed, it will be seen in our words, our actions and interactions with others.

3. Protecting our minds is critical.

It is the seat of our decision-making.

If our minds haven’t been fortified by through prayer and the study of God’s Word, then we’re in trouble.

Our ability to discern right from wrong becomes comprised.

Our ability to discern what God wants us to do and how He wants us to live hinges on having a “mind like Christ”.

If Jesus saw the need to have that personal connection with God to get through His mission on earth, how much more are we in need of it?

In short – protect your mind!

The enemy is out to capture it.

Deep-dive into God’s Word! Not only will you become more like Him, but you will be able to withstand the enemy’s attacks.
